This Addendum forms part of Yeli’s Terms and Conditions.
It applies only to members participating in the Yeli Workforce service. If there is any conflict, this Addendum prevails for Workforce members only.
Please read this Addendum together with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy.
1. Definition of Yeli Workforce
Yeli Workforce is a grocery-only prepaid grocery acquisition and distribution service facilitated through an employer, HR department, or designated workplace coordinator (“Employer Coordinator”) for participating employees.
- Operates on an 11-month cycle (January–November, allocation in December)
- Does not include meat allocations
- Participation is voluntary
Any mandatory participation arrangements arise solely from agreements between employer and employee, to which Yeli is not a party.
2. Role of the Employer / Coordinator
The Employer or Employer Coordinator:
- Acts as a communication liaison between Yeli and employees
- Assists with onboarding and information sharing
- May facilitate payroll deductions if voluntarily agreed
No Agency or Financial Intermediation:
- The Employer does not become Yeli’s agent or financial intermediary
- The Employer does not hold funds on behalf of Yeli unless expressly agreed in writing
- Where such agreement exists, the Employer acts independently and Yeli bears no liability for delays, errors, or losses arising from employer fund handling
3. Employee Responsibilities
Each participating employee:
- Remains an individual Yeli member
- Is bound by Yeli’s Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and this Addendum
- Is responsible for:
- Timely monthly payments (whether via payroll deduction or direct payment)
- Maintaining accurate personal information
- Collecting their grocery allocation as scheduled in December
4. Payments & Missed Contributions
Important:
- Missed payment rules apply exactly as set out in the main Terms and Conditions
- Missed payments after 1 July trigger an automatic 12-month pause
- Payroll deduction errors outside Yeli’s control remain the employee’s responsibility
- The 20% administration fee applies and is non-refundable
5. Allocation & Collection
- Allocations occur during the December allocation period
- Collection details (date, time, location) are communicated via the Employer Coordinator and/or directly to employees
- Employees are responsible for collecting their allocations as scheduled
- Failure to collect may result in forfeiture in accordance with the Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy
6. Employment Changes
If an employee resigns, is retrenched, or exits employment:
- Their Yeli membership continues independently under standard terms
- Prepaid amounts remain non-refundable
- The employee remains responsible for any outstanding payments
- The allocation can still be collected in December as scheduled
Employer exit from the program does not trigger refunds. If an employer ceases to participate in Yeli Workforce, existing employee accounts continue under standard Yeli terms.
7. No Employer Guarantees
Yeli Workforce is not a wage substitute, guaranteed benefit, or financial product. Employers make no guarantees regarding:
- Pricing outcomes or savings amounts
- Inflation protection
- Grocery value or quality
- Yeli’s continued service provision
Yeli Workforce is not:
- An employee benefit guarantee
- A financial product, investment, or savings scheme
- A stokvel or informal savings arrangement
- A wage supplement or employment condition
8. Governing Law
This Addendum is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa and operates in conjunction with Yeli’s main legal framework.
